A parodical existentialism – as it should be.

Didn't love it but I otherwise quite enjoyed this movie. Reminded me of Luis Buñuel all the way through, especially his surrealist masterpiece The Exterminating Angel.

I loved this. The characters were very diverse and thoroughly self-absorbed. The cast is an absolutely dream. If you pay attention you will probably figure out the beginning/end scene (not that it matters). https://ihatebadmovies.com/movies/the-party/

One professional success unravels the personal lives of the seven characters in just over an hour. A nice premise for the smaller scale & tight plotline of the movie, but the film hurts itself through its quick ruminations & heavy-handed meandering in political, social and medical commentary. I enjoyed it but can't say I liked it.
