I just don't warm to slashers and other than being a slasher it doesn't offer anything else.
Friday the 13th on the train.
Given the age, low budget - I actually quite liked this. They tried their best to keep you guessing on who it might have been. Of course, how can you not like Jamie Lee Curtis! Seriously though, don't take it too seriously and if you enjoy the early 80's low budget slasher genre, this is a solid performance. Will it be on your mind like Sleepaway Camp? No, but there are some rather progressive ideas for when it was made. Enjoy!
A group of college students hold a New Year's Eve party aboard a privately chartered train. There's only one problem, they are joined by an uninvited guest. I really wanted to like this film. It could've been great with the creepy mask, magic show, costume party, and the claustrophobic setting but all those ideas aren't properly utilised and we got this dull slasher as a result. There's not enough variation to seperate itself from other slashers in that era. It's lacking in tension to maintain my interest, most characters are unbearable and the kills are mostly cut away. I will say this though, the last moment is quite shocking despite the film being too obvious about the killer identity.
A slaher with very little substance other than the end. Just a location not really used before.
