Man what the actual fuck?
I love how Garfield carries the character in this movie, he's awesome. You have to admire the cinematography and the score here, it's so beautiful. I know this is not a movie for everyone, but if you wanna see this, don't expect a coherent plot. Just enjoy the ride and try to find the meaning you want, but only if you want to.
One of the strangest movies I have ever seen, and I have seen many. To clarify, this isn't one of those self-indulgent films that is trying to be deep, but it's actually doing nothing. At its heart, this is a mystery, more specifically a neo-noir. Now, the only other movies I have seen that are any way similar are _Southland Tales_ (2006), and _Beau is Afraid_ (2023). Still, even those only scratch the surface of what is going on here. This is a story that just builds and builds, and develops such a rich mythology in its bizarre world that feels like Lynch through the eyes of Araki. Loads of great characters, two of my favorite REM songs, lots of nudity; There's much to dissect within, but this was more about the journey for me, and less about the destination. If ever the day comes that I give this a rewatch, I might try to riddle out what the meaning is, if anything... or maybe that's what it's actually trying to say: nothing. I would totally recommend this, but it's definitely not going to be for everyone. If you like the idea of a crazy noir full of paranoia and conspiracies, check it out - or if you just want to see a naked owl girl with full bush... I know I did.
I curse the day I started to watch it.
