>"I didn't mean to scare you." "Everything scares me!" Relatable. Giving Mulholland Drive in more ways than one: wig, phone call, nonlinear narrative, surrealism. That shot of all the men's faces leaning over her... Wow. That paint scene is tremendously evocative. Wish there was more of that vibe.
There is a very cool concept here, but the story is handled a little typically and you see the end coming a mile away. It doesn't help that the effects are horribly dated and that it drags quite a bit... Still though, it's Argento, so it still looks pretty, has a great score and is fairly entertaining.
Only the English dub available on Shudder and honestly some scenes come across as a horror version of The Room. I found myself laughing in places I'm guessing Argento didn't intend. Though I have to mention how weird it is for Dario to cast his daughter in a movie involving said character being raped repeatedly. Icky.
