I'm really not sure what this movie is trying to convey. Its messages seems utterly mixed, at times feeling like a criticism of radicalization and revolution, while at other times praising it. It paints these feminist characters at the core of the film's cast as strong-willed revolutionaries, but throughout the runtime also has people criticising this group in an equally educated manner. Both sides in the film make great and well-thought-out points, and perhaps it was meant to make things more realistic, but it really just made the whole thing more confusing. I'm really not sure where to land on the message of the film, but to me, it seems to lean in the direction of "violence is not the answer", as the film continually shows the negative consequences of violent revolutionary action. However, I'm not even sure that's what the film wants to say, as the message is so incoherent. Add to that the low-budget production value, mediocre acting, and disjointed documentary-style structure, and it all amounts to a film that was a struggle to get through, despite coming from a place of strong-willed feminist power.
