The two-strip technicolor really works here. Accentuates the Art Deco set design and creates an somewhat unsettling atmosphere. It was a terrible technology, but every once in a while it was used in a film like this to great effect.
Enjoyable whodunnit sci-fi horror film with a very compelling mystery. It's rare seeing a color film from 1932. The performances are strong, I found myself liking Lee Tracy very much. He's annoying and hilarious at the same time. I was really invested because all the scientists look evil and twisted, every one of them could be the killer. The two strip technicolor gives it a very unique aesthetic and adds the eerieness combined with great set design. It ends with satisfying reveal and features fantastic make-up. Worth checking out!
