Tale like movie, esp. for kids but it's kind of sad.

[Netflix] David Oyelowo makes his directorial debut with a good family story in which difficult subjects are tackled through the helpless gaze of a child. Less profound than "A monster call" (2016), for example, it builds the characters well, creates a special relationship between Gunner and Jo, and the coming-of-age of the protagonist works well, showing the need to take the punches of life embracing the feelings.

It’s an ambitious film but it doesn’t have the magic that I was hoping for. Still, with good performances and a fairly engaging story, it isn’t a film to be overlooked.
