Synopsis
Jeune chimiste diplômé de Cambridge, Sidney Stratton survit en travaillant comme manutentionnaire dans le textile. Il n'a pas enterré son ambition et élabore dans le plus grand secret un tissu révolutionnaire. Un jour enfin, l'industriel Alan Birnley l'embauche pour exploiter ses véritables capacités... Enjoyable film that presents a bit of a moral conundrum around a revolutionary invention. Alec Guinness is reliably watchable but it's as much drama as it is a comedy - still, a fun watch.

Another great film of the Ealing, with a great Alec Guinness. If your invention takes away a lot of people's work, they will not see it with good eyes
