I was really amped to see this. I had hopes that it would be like when I found Paul Naschy movies. Unfortunately, this is pretty weak. Jose Marins must have seen Spanish _Dracula_ (1931) at some point and wanted to make him a psychopath. Okay, so what is this? It's a pretty by-the-book horror movie where we follow the antagonist - for some reason - Ze, as he tries to find a woman to impregnate. The movie might have been better titled The Confused Morals of Conservative Joe. See, Ze is completely amoral, he has zero qualms about committing assault, murder, rape... he's a bad guy. However, in one weird moment, he reprimands a father for being too rough with his child. See, nothing really matters to Ze, aside from procreating. It's super important to pass on those genes, keep the bloodline and the name going. I guess. The only redeeming quality in Ze is that he's an atheist, although, I have my doubts. He seems more to me like an agnostic theist who just doesn't like religion. Not good enough. Anyway! The pace is super slow here. The story is boring. The acting is comically over the top. There was also a moment where a bird dies, but I don't think it was real, seeing as how the film also has the fakest owl I have ever seen, and I have seen many fake owls. Just weak overall. I did enjoy the old spooky feel, though there is just not enough going on here to ever want to watch this again. Maybe the other installments are better.
