Synopsis
Malcolm, jeune geek fan de hip-hop des années 90 vit à Inglewood, un quartier chaud de Los Angeles. Avec ses deux amis Diggy et Jibs, ils jonglent entre musique, lycée et entretiens pour entrer à l'université. Une invitation à une soirée underground va entraîner Malcolm dans une aventure qui pourrait bien le faire passer du statut de « geek » à celui de mec cool, un « dope ».

Fun and slick movie but the second half wasn't the the kind of story progression I wanted to see. Also totally terrible fourth-wall speech there.

Late af to this movie and definitely not the target audience, but I loved this shit! The cast is phenomenal and they do a great job capturing that high school feeling. Loved how prominently Inglewood/LA was featured. Can’t recommend this movie enough. Glad so many of these actors went on to other movies and shows! Now I gotta tune into this writer/director to see what other stories they have going now. Watch it!

The first half of the film is great, dope even, and then it seems to lose its way and becomes a little predictable.
