Eddie Murphy knows how to act in comedy, and a movie, well, it's a family tale, don't expect masterpiece. :)
Please do not take this film too seriously and just enjoy it for what it is, I grew up with this film and sure it's a little nostalgic for me but it is definitely not one of the worst films for kids or adults. Eddie Murphy (Dr. John Dolittle) is really good in this film and he will definitely get a laugh out of you, also the rest of the cast is pretty good and do the best they can with a pretty bog-standard script. Personally, I can recommend this for parents and kids, especially after the horrendous new Dolittle film which unfortunately was so cringy and at least this one is fun.
And y'all thought Robert Downey Jr's Dr Dolittle was shit... Speaking of the enema kingdom, Dr. Dolittle (1998) is like a milk & molasses enema because it's unpleasant, unfunny, and the 'end' result is so predictable.
on the big screen, rewatch very funny but has some offensive humor/language which is bad
7/10 Nothing spectacular. Expected more animals, storyline was not the best. It had some funny moments.
