Even Leaving Las Vegas was less depressing then this movie. And that movie surely was better written, had better dialogs and was created with a lot of passion. All of which are things this movie lacks. Yet again a far-below-mediocre movie from Nicolas Cage. I cant believe how far he has sunk. The movie started out interesting, with an old spy confined to his desk. The motives for the (typical in this kind of movies) helper are superficial at most. For some vague reason he gives up his career to pursue the (typical for this kind of movie) villain that the old spy never managed to catch. But the movie does not get much further there. It's as if the writer did not manage to find any further inspiration. Or they ran out of budget. Or both. Do. Not. Bother.
I suggested that me & my dad could watch Soul together. I am instead watching Dying of the Light because my dad put it on & didn't feel like getting up It disturbs me how easily impressed he is by any thriller film
They did Paul Schrader all wrong.
