Yuck! It's so terrible. There is nothing redeeming here. Cast sucks, the new Djinn sucks, the effects suck, the story sucks. How did they mess this up so bad? booo.
Shite movie! waste of time, the first two wishmasters were the best!
so a few years back i was watching through this series with my friend, we made it through the first two okay (weren't overly enthused with them but it's whatever) only to get to this one and drop it after 5 minutes. coming back to it now i can see why. i only finished this because i barely paid attention/multitasked and so that i could at least try 4 to finish out my blu-ray set. i usually try to be open-minded with casting changes in these horror films. i know all kinds of shit can come up whether financially, with contracts, someone ducking out on an impending shitshow (hiiiiii), or otherwise but i do think a case of recasting for a character like the Djinn in these movies (or Pinhead in Hellraiser or the Leprechaun in his movies) is a rougher adjustment than something like when The Stepfather 3 just swapped out its random stepdad lmao. at least it's over with.
One star just for the tits at the beginning. All the rest was like amateur some student movie. Barbage.
This a classic of what happens when someone tries to revive a "franchise". It has lost of all the cool parts of the original Wishmaster, the story is stupid (and that really is saying something considering the whole premise), the human form doesn't have the same level of creepiness (even when he does the Terminator impression). Not recommended for anyone except those obsessive compulsive people who think they have to watch all movies in a series "just in case" - and those people will be disappointed
