Eerie but good. Pretty big twist. Watch it.

Nicely shot, well acted, and pretty damn hot, but the ending is just passé since it's not 1960, and doesn't really carry the effect or shock value it would if you hadn't ever seen a movie before. This would be a subjective 7 or 8 if it had had a better ending.

It is sleek, unsettling and more interested in mood than logic. The erotic tension simmers nicely, the atmosphere is icy and controlled, and the film knows how to make silence uncomfortable. Julianne Moore plays repression and insecurity with precision, while Amanda Seyfried is genuinely hypnotic, using softness as a weapon. The problem is the psychology doesn’t fully add up, and the third act leans into melodrama instead of digging deeper. Stylish and provocative, but emotionally hollow once you start thinking too hard.
