Great bio movie about The Runaways. Good soundtrack and great performances as we see the rise and fall of Cherrie Curry, and the continued success of Joan Jett.

While the movie is solid and the acting performances good, it is nonetheless just mediocre. It lacks not only a consistent storyline but feels like jumping from one subject to the next and, before all, it lacks soul. As Sid, it is not terrible and tells the tale of how Joan Jett started to make music, but it is little more than a mediocre documentary on the subject. That is a pity, as the story has more potential.

"The Runaways" stands as a solid music biopic, unflinchingly depicting the raw energy and nascent talent of the groundbreaking all-girl rock band. However, it's harrowing to witness the exploitation these young girls endured at such a formative age, a pervasive theme that casts a shadow over their early success. It's truly a shame, considering the immense potential for even more great music that could have followed had their careers not been so marred by these circumstances.
