To be honest, the book was already boring to begin with, and the movie really didn't help. There is so much potential here, but it's executed in such a dull way, you don't even care what happens to anyone. Could have been so much better, I wish it was so much better, but this is the kind of movie you've already forgotten about after finishing it.
Not at all as bad as people are trying to claim. The worst part is probably just Afflecks accent dipping in and out. Besides that, the story is a little bloated; trying to fit all this story in makes it come off as a little episodic rather than filmic. If anything the screenplay or editing just needed some tightening. Otherwise, it's an entertaining period gangster flick, with some beautiful imagery.
i wanted to give this movie a better rating, but story is boring, there is no character development and acting was just bad. really bad. if you love prohibition era and all mafia stuff, run away from this movie.
Nice movie, excellent scene and storyline.
I really liked this movie. To me this is better than The Irishman; hot take 😅
