Synopsis
Longfellow Deeds est un homme simple et naïf vivant dans une petite ville américaine. Sa vie est bouleversée quand il apprend qu'il vient d'hériter de 20 millions de dollars. Il se rend alors à New York pour toucher cet héritage. Là, il est la cible d'avocats véreux et de journalistes peu scrupuleux.

Capra's version of Americana is just never going to click with me, but I was won over at times by this movie in spite of it all. Has some truly odd moments (tuba, donuts, etc.) but Cooper sells the hell out of it. Disappointing that it ends in a ludicrous courtroom scene, but of course it all comes together in the end. Particularly liked Jean Arthur's performance.
