As a child I always liked this DBZ movie, I used to think that Cooler was probably the most incredible villain I had ever seen thanks to his unique transformation. Watching it now I would say it is not as great as I remember it but it's still decent, the action is quite intense and even caught me off guard with some surprising and quite brutal moments. The story though isn't anything out of this world since it's just a typical revenge story but as always DB films are seen for the action not the story. The English dub's soundtrack actually surprised me a lot with its use of Disturbed and Drowning Pool songs. Cooler is just as threatening as I remember him being back in the day, his Shredder-esque transformation is still one of my favorites to this day. His VA did a magnificent job at making him sound like someone who could strike fear in you just by looking at you. So far in the DBZ films I would say he's one of the most brutal fighters seeing him pick up Goku and slam him into the ground never gets old. Cooler's henchmen are okay, Salza is the one that stands out as the pretty boy with a French accent the other two are just generic. Unfortunately one of these henchmen has what's quite possibly the most annoying English dub voice in the entire Dragon Ball franchise. Neiz honestly sounds like a talking bird that got its testicles caught in a bear trap. If I had any complaint it's that I thought Cooler ended up being defeated way too easily, I honestly thought it was BS how Goku stopped his Supernova. I would've also loved to have seen Cooler's transformation in action for a bit longer but hey all these movies only last around 48 minutes.

"What? My brother killed by a Saiyan? That's absurd! How could a Saiyan generate enough power to destroy Frieza?" If Cooler would've just shot down Goku's space pod. If only.. Cooler's Revenge happens straight after the Freeza saga and it an enjoyable 48 minute film. When I was a kid I always thought Cooler looked so epic with his Shedderesque look. I love his transformation scene when he stand under the waterfall. The camera turning around as he hits Goku, him slamming Goku into the ground all look very impressive. The fight scene is a bit short and I still wonder how Goku revived that little bird. It's always fun to see Korin and Yajirobi. Sad they didn't have Krillin use his Destructo Disk, but on the other hand we got a Special Beam Cannon! All in all Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge is a decent Dragon Ball movie and one that never fails to entertain me. Hopefully Cooler will one day show up in the anime someway, somehow.

I had to switch to the sub, the annoying overly loud unbalanced rock music was ao irritating in the us dub.
