Streamed via HBO Max Pretty good Hitchcockian psychological thriller. It's slow but never boring and keeps me guessing the whole time. I really liked the cast, they did a great job. Margot Kidder looked stunning but her Québécois accent was so strange. The direction was great, I liked the use of split screen and that black and white sequence. The kooky score was the best thing about this film as it fit the picture perfectly and really helped creating the tension. It all went good until that very convoluted third act but it's still enjoyable overall.
Not bad. Felt slow in a few spots, but that's just the style. A lot of scenes are really interesting or effective. Maybe this is the beginning of De Palma looking through windows in tyat voyeuristic way, in the style of rear window. For a low budget novie it's good. The score elevates it and is really enjoyable. It makes me wish that somw modern movies had scores like this instead of soundtracks.
Boy this was a creepy one. Like a few other De Palma films I think I've got it pegged from beginning what the twist is then it's becomes so much more. So creepy. Need to watch a comedy or something right now so I can fall asleep. Creeped out.
