Synopsis
1942 : Détroit de Bungo. Le sous-marin du commandant Richardson est détruit par l'Akikaze, un destroyer japonais. Seul, Richardson et quelques membres de son équipage survivent. L'année suivante, à Pearl Harbor, le commandant reçoit la charge d'un autre submersible baptisé le Nerka. Mais il se heurte à l'hostilité du lieutenant Jim Bledsoe, le second, qui espérait obtenir le poste de commandant du bateau. Richardson veut affronter l'Akikaze et entraîne ses hommes dans sa vengeance.

While the movie was known to have writing issues with two different "camps" making changes to the script, Clark Gable is sensational and the script works because the sub has its own division going in the story. I'd actually give it a 10 except the ending is pretty much non-existent. I won't ruin it for anyone that's thinking about watching it, but I thought there should've been a true reckoning ending where more heartfelt respect is shown. But I'm former Navy so....

This is a good movie but the end was a bit rushed. Needed to watch 2 times to understand the sub plot.
