After giant ants (Them!) and giant spiders (Tarantula) this one was just too much for mainstream cinema even for the 1950s. While not completely terrible, the other two are just much better while fundamentally the same. This one has though really bad special effects, even for the time. (Watch 1933 "Invisible man" for state of the art effects even 25 years earlier.) If you are though into 1950s Sci-Fi movies, this one is kind of a gem, just because it is so bad and pushes the concepts to their limit, and you should not miss it … just because it is what it is,

Doesn't live up to expectations but it's entertaining for what it is. It's a corny and absurd low budget old film that has fun charm and tackles female repression. It's talky just like every film from the 50s but never boring. All the cast do a decent job and I find them very interesting. I want to highlight Nancy Archer and that goofy sheriff deputy, they make this film so much fun. When Nancy finally gets her time to shine in the last moments, it's a lot of fun. I'm glad she finally gets her revenge after gaslighted by men and treated like shit by her husband. The special effects are hilariously weak but the giant paper mache hands look great. Did I mention there's an alien in the film?

I wonder how the writer's marriage is going... The woman should be bigger and more angry/destructive. Effects leave something to be desired.

To be honest, Attack of the 50 foot woman is not really worth your time. Except for the fact that Allison Hayes looks stunning in this one, there's little else to enjoy. It seems like the studio took two or three bad scripts and mashed them together to try and make something of them. The acting is not really something to write home about either... All in all...a disappointment. The poster looks cool though...

Nancy is drivin' around one night and meets up with a UFO in Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman. Nancy drives to the diner and starts screaming for her husband who is cheating on her with Honey inside the diner. So the police show up and decide to look for Nancy's space ship, not believing a word she says. So everyone goes on home and Harry and Nancy have a fight and kind of make up. The next day Harry and Nancy go in search of the UFO and finally find it. But Harry wants to get rid of Nancy so he can have her fortune and marry Honey, and so leaves her stranded at the mercy of a 30-foot giant. The next day Nancy is found and seems to have radiation poisoning, and seems to be getting larger all the time. Pretty soon Nancy is huge and when she wakes up she goes in search of her cheating husband, tearing the roof off of the house she is staying in. This was a fantastic little screen gem and is one of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time. This is a movie you cannot help but enjoy and is highly recommend for all.
