Within the realm of so-bad-it's-good films, the title _Laserblast_ comes up a lot. Now, I have watched other films that fit into this category: _The Room_ (2003), _Manos: The Hands of Fate_ (1966), _Troll 2_ (1990), et cetera. However, I can honestly say, the reputation has not been exaggerated about this one. I'd give a spoiler warning, but there is nothing to spoil. There is no plot here. A "boy" gets an alien weapon, he shoots stuff/people, an alien kills him, the end. So, let's start with our lead, Billy (Kim Milford). The synopsis indicates that he is a teen, but come on, what is he, thirtyteen?! Anyway, he's bare chested for most of the movie, so if you're into that... I'd really like to know what the director's guidance was for Kim: "Just play it like a zombie dinosaur." If that was the case, he nailed it. This is a movie that does almost nothing right, but the award for the worst performance goes to Eddie Deezen. Look, I get it, his whole schtick was to play an insufferable nerd, and he nailed it. Also, how the hell did Roddy McDowall end up in this movie? He is far too good of an actor to be in this. Lastly, the only reason I actually wasted my time on this is because of the beautiful Cheryl Smith. She deserved better. If you want to see her in a good movie, watch _Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural_ (1973); it's weird as hell, but enjoyable. R.I.P. Cheryl. As for _Laserblast_, yeah, it is that bad.
I bought the dvd because Static X sampled the aliens speaking in one of their songs. The movie is bad though.
Bro this movie is so fuckin cool
Not as bad as you might think, not as good as it should have been.
