Adaptation punk et tromaesque du classique de William Shakespeare.

only my third Troma associated movie but once you get the gist of or experience one for yourself you know what you're getting. sleaze on top of sleaze, charming but cheap effects, tactless humor with more misses than hits, and all that stuff. not sure what made this more tolerable than what i remember of my first viewing of the first _Toxic Avenger_. perhaps the novelty of the Shakespeare framing, maybe i was in a better mood tonight than the one i was in when i watched Toxie, possibly my cinematic brain damage has progressed enough for me to open my heart to this fully in spite of the mess. probably a bit of it all. looking forward to revisiting _Def by Temptation_ and the first _Toxic Avenger_ plus trying some further Troma efforts someday down the line.
The most fucked-up goofball ero-guro nonsensical “Romeo and Juliet” parody to ever grace the silver screen. Gunn’s sense of humor didn’t change a bit - both for the good and bad. While in his later film it’s the heart that makes the lame jokes easier to swallow, here it’s the politically incorrect amateur movie self-awareness mixed with a somewhat punkish attitude. Watch only if you can take the juxtaposition of actual lines from Shakespeare with incest, fart jokes, and penis monsters. It's a little overlong, but, unlike most Troma movies, at least it has some kind of narrative flow. Actual score: 4.5 Guilty pleasure score: 7
