C'étaient les vacances d'une vie pour un type de personne particulier

This is my guilty pleasure movie. I would have said Pride and Prejudice was, but I don't feel guilty about that movie.
This film was hilarious, and I'm so glad it bore my concerns out about "Martin."
10TH TIME WATCHING THIS AND IT IS STILL CHARMING AS HECK.
Jane was actually pretty insufferable and I feel like her character didn’t even make sense. First, she’s portrayed as a total nut with a creepy Jane Austen obsession, willing to throw he life savings away to play pretend, only for her to arrive at the manor and suddenly look down on the whole thing, as if she all finds it very silly. Like, girl, pick a personality! Additionally, the romance was also so random and confusing. Why on earth did Mr. Nobley fall so deeply in love with Jane? They never even connected! Not to mention the fact that she didn’t even really choose him… Like, he was, for some inexplicable reason, completely devoted to her, while she was just… there. Really, there was no actual love story here. It was just weird.
Pretty decent offbeat rom-com for fans of Jane Austen.
