Synopsis
New Iberia, Louisiane. Le détective Dave Robicheaux est sur les traces d'un tueur en série qui s'attaque à de très jeunes femmes. De retour chez lui après une investigation sur la scène d'un nouveau crime infâme, Dave fait la rencontre d'Elrod Sykes. La grande star hollywoodienne est venue en Louisiane tourner un film, produit avec le soutien de la fine fleur du crime local, Baby Feet Balboni. Elrod raconte à Dave qu'il a vu, gisant dans un marais, le corps décomposé d'un homme noir enchaîné. Cette découverte fait rapidement resurgir des souvenirs du passé de Dave. Mais à mesure que Dave se rapproche du meurtrier, le meurtrier se rapproche de la famille de Dave...

Found this purely by accident on TubiTV and decided to give it a watch, based on it having Tommy Lee Jones and John Goodman. It was a good movie, but as another review has mentioned, it was quite disjointed. Even the conclusion didn't seem to wrap up the scores of loose ends that were flopping around out there. I'm still not sure what happened, and the final scene (just before the credits roll) made absolutely no sense to me. Definitely some good acting in here and it was very captivating probably through the first 2/3 of the film but got pretty muddled after that. Worth watching just to see Tommy Lee Jones in a strong lead role but a bit disappointing as a story.
