I was expecting a comedy, but _Best Man Down_ took some turns and showed that it is an indie drama that unfolds more like a mystery. It's Scott, and Kristin's wedding day, but this is really the story about Scott's best man, Lumpy. It isn't a spoiler to say that Lumpy doesn't make it past the first act; his death is the catalyst for the rest of the movie. The story is told in a disjointed way, where we jump to unknown characters at different locations, and it takes a while to connect all the dots, though it's a journey worth taking. I recommend this to fans of indie dramas. The tone is medium heavy: funny moments, gets into dark territory, but never loses what is at the heart of the story. Surprisingly sweet, and well made.
Screw the “professional” critics. This movie was awesome. ❤
The first minutes I thought it was a (bad) comedy, then it turned into an interesting drama. Not that bad.
