The 2008 film “Day of the Dead” may share its title with George A. Romero's 1985 film, but apart from a few minor military parallels, the films have nothing in common. And that's not meant as a compliment, because this remake is really nothing more than a very generic and cheap “fast zombies” film. The acting is more in the “lousy” category, and the aggressive 2000s look does the rest. Normally, I would say that Steve Miner is a director who has managed to deliver reasonably decent genre fare in the past. Here, however, he has failed miserably.
