[5.5/10] _FernGully_ was fine, but I can see why it never became a favorite for me as a kid. While the environmental message was impactful and probably inspired a lot of kids, the story wasn’t particularly engaging. The animation wasn't too memorable either, though Hexxus’s early sludge form stood out. It actually made me think of _Spirited Away_, though this film came out several years prior. Robin Williams and Tim Curry were definite highlights, and Grace Zabriskie added a nice touch. Still, even with all the fairies (which I usually have quite a soft spot for), the movie just didn’t pull me in.
Rewatching some childhood favourites but this one I gotta be honest, I'm just waiting for Tim Curry to show up.
Watched this as a kid and just re-watched it with my kids. Super 'green' movement political that I didn't remember from being a kid, but not a bad message to take care of the world we live in. Does have a couple of scenes that would be creepy for small children (when Hex is growing as he is a black skeleton with slimy stuff all around and an 'evil' sounding voice.).
