"The Furious" is another sleeper hit to emerge from TIFF 2025. The film follows two desperate men whose lives collide under tragic circumstances: a father searching for his kidnapped daughter and a journalist determined to find his abducted wife. Their paths cross in a relentless tale of vengeance as the unlikely duo join forces to track down the people responsible and bring them to justice. The film's action sequences are its greatest strength. The fight scenes are brutal, bloody, and unforgiving, featuring excellent choreography and creative use of everyday objects as improvised weapons. Directoral choices keep the combat feeling fresh and unpredictable, with each confrontation carrying a sense of urgency and danger. While some of the dialogue from the script occasionally feels rough around the edges, the film's shortcomings are easy to overlook thanks to the film's expertly executed action and consistently engaging pacing. "The Furious" delivers the kind of visceral, hard-hitting action that keeps audiences invested from beginning to end. Although the film does not appear to be headed for a wide theatrical release, it is a hidden gem that deserves far more attention from action fans. For those seeking a gritty revenge thriller with memorable fight sequences and intense energy, "The Furious" is well worth seeking out.
Clean fights, very exciting. There's a problem, the big guy joining the last game only makes the fight longer and messy, not more wonderful.
I was so hyped for this one and it didn’t disappoint in the slightest. It honestly exceeded my very high expectations I had. The choreography was incredible and a bit over the top but in the very best way. This movie knew what it was trying to do and ran full steam with it. The cast was awesome. Xie Miao was so likable as a father that would do anything to get his daughter back. I’m pretty sure this was my first time seeing this actor but I loved him here. It’s violent, brutal, viscous, unrelenting and somewhat emotional. I was surprised and appreciated that they took some risks. These are always going to be my type of movies through and through. The movie honestly just kept getting better and better. Then the final act came along and was insane! I absolutely loved every bit of how they decided to close this one out. That entire fight sequence was one of the best and most entertaining I’ve seen. I absolutely loved every single second of this. If you’re an action fan go see this movie immediately!
2/10 this movie was just straight up bad. choreographed like crap and unrealistic beyond suspending disbelief. i left like an hour into it, which i almost never do, but it was a regal mystery movie and just not worth any more of my time. predictable plot, bad action, and laughable acting. really hard to find any good tbh lol.
This movie fucking rips, it’s nonstop and just when you think it is out of gas it fucking goes even harder. Quite a few audible gasps and reactions during my Monday Mystery screening
