Romance movies are like colon x-rays: your own are super passionate but everyone else's are silly at best and sickening most of the time. _Furia_, set in a dystopia where the most serious crime you can commit against the government is painting artwork on the walls, does what it can to promote its rebel agenda but at its puerile heart is nothing more than a basic romance. Still, as a fan of Alexandre Aja, it's nice to see his early work as the rough drafts that will lead to more mature works like _Haute Tension_, _The Hills Have Eyes_ (2006), and _Crawl_.
