I think what's most sad about _Candyman 3_ is that the first movie is a horror classic. This was so bad. I stopped caring half way through. I was so bored by the terrible acting, cliche writing, and muddy plot. The movie stars a Playboy Playmate, do I need to say more? The movie might have done well if it had focused on Caroline (our lead) being Candyman's great great granddaughter, but it is treated as a detail rather than a major aspect. Instead we get some scumbag cops, irrelevant ties to Dia de Muertos, and a cult of over-the-top goths. I've seen a lot of bad movie, and there's usually enough for me to still focus and try to follow the story. Not here, the layers and layers of awfulness drained the life out of me until I had to tune out for my own safety. The only highlight was Rena Riffel. If the movie had just been her in a thong, I'd give it a 9/10. What a huge disappointment for anyone who loves _Candyman_. Save yourself some time and go watch that one. Tony Todd deserved better than this.
Just as bad as the second one.
Generally awful save for one death scene that is metal af.
And this one just isn’t trying at all. Nothing real to say, it’s just a generic slasher sequel complete with gratuitous fanservice, lame effects, and bland, one note characters. Tony Todd is the bright light- even as his character is reduced to an incestuous figure he puts his heart into it and hones in on the tragic ‘I want to be with my family that was denied to me’ element. But every time he lends dignity and gravitas to the role he’s then undercut by the script making him kiss his great granddaughter so. Just pretend this one doesn’t exist
Oof! Talk about a way to take a respectable horror series with rich mythology and instantly turning it into Straight-to-Video junk. This is such stinky poop it killed the franchise. But hey, they put lots of of boobs in it... That's what Candyman fans were looking for right?
