[Raindance '25] The film manages to avoid becoming a melodrama thanks to the way the director treats his characters with sensitivity and empathy, even as they make difficult decisions. Throughout the story, there are glimpses into the Muslim society and its limitations that prevail in Dhaka, and into the corrupt system that has taken hold among law enforcement. But the story stands out above all for its character development, especially in a relationship between mother and daughter that is sustained by love but also by constant frustration.
