A quaint children's movie, but most certainly for children. Worth a viewing to see more of Thomas Brodie-Sangster and also lovely to see Colin Firth and Emma Thompson. Beyond that the movie does not have a lot to offer. I liked the aesthetic, even if a little passe. Only worth the single watch though and only if with children or for the actors.

Emma Thompson brings warmth and dry humor to the role, giving the character a memorable presence. The story follows a familiar moral arc, but its charm and playful magical touches keep it engaging. Light, cozy, and pleasantly imaginative.

What a great good feel magical story that is very similar to a Marry Poppins type story as it follows a middle class single dad who has several uncontrollable children who keep going through nanny's until a mystical but instructional nanny shows up that changes their lives. The only negative part of the film is that it felt like to big of a plot to cram into one film despite the time table presented. The message that it conveys of children behaving properly and learning respect can lead to greater love and attention of their guardians and how the ones who love you are always willing to help.

Like a normal nanny: good for kids, not meant for adults and not as magical as Mary Poppins.
