>"Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl..." I love how there's like a whole subgenre of high school movies that revolve around contemporary adaptations of classic plays. Based on movies like this, you'd think Shakespeare would've been a much bigger deal when I was in high school. >"So you're just gonna give up? What if everyone gave up, Ella? There'd be no America, no electricity, no TiVo, and we'd all have to watch our shows at their scheduled times! You know, we'd never get to see the work of Renee Zellweger, or Christina Aguilera. If everyone gave up, we'd all be sitting in mud huts in Europe eating weeds!"

This movie was very confusing, but entertaining.

I actually quite liked it for the first half, but by time the credits arrived I was very much awaiting the end. 'Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen' has a few things going in its favour. Lindsay Lohan is very good, she definitely makes her character more interesting than she probably would've been without Lohan. You also have Megan Fox in her first sizeable film role, it's actually kinda odd seeing those two together onscreen for some reason. Away from them, I enjoyed the editing and cinematography for the most part. I'm not saying it's anything insane or memorable but it's better than I would've predicted. The premise isn't the most clearly defined, at least in terms of its execution; it starts to drag from the midway point. It hits a fair amount of clichés too, though does avoid a few also; Lola (Lohan) doesn't instantly befriend Carla (Fox), for one. Nothing dreadful, it just got boring as it went on; despite a low run time of 89 minutes. Lohan the star.

Somehow I missed this one when it first came out, so this was my first watch. It’s good, but definitely not the best of its kind. The movie has that classic Disney Channel-style feel, and Lindsay Lohan once again proves she was always great in these roles. Fun enough, even if it’s not particularly memorable. Rating: 2.5/5 – 70% – Worth Watching

This movie is based on a book. I found it very diverting and stayed very close to the book. As with so many other things, the book was better but that's just because books have an unlimited runtime whereas movies have to cut things in the interest of time. Much though I love Lindsay Lohan, I think Alison Pill and Carol Kane stole the show.
