The two leads had zero chemistry. And then the movie tries to throw in a woman empowerment message, but it feels forced. I loveeeee woman empowerment but you can’t just tack that sort of thing on. One character exists solely to push that theme and there’s barely anything else to her. The theme itself could’ve worked very well but it falls flat for me.
In the words of Nicole Kidman herself: I was “not just entertained, but somehow reborn”.
One of the most horny movies I’ve seen in a while and the kicker is it’s actually great. Engaging, exciting, and bad fun that has you at the edge of your seat. Excellent acting across the board and the cinematography and especially the score kick ass. This rocks.
The trailer of this movie pumps it up way too much. I'm 30 minutes into this thing. Other than Botox Kidman fingering herself at the start, there nothing as steamy as what the trailer suggests. It's terribly boring. Any other 50+ year old actress would have made this a much better watch. They chose the most boring and face-paralysed one of the lot for this move. That doesn't help at all. I expected better from A24.
So Nicole Kidman's lesbian daughter is played by a young Joe Exotic.
