I recently grabbed this on DVD under its Desert Heat title. I hadn’t seen it in a long time but remember it being pretty average. I was happy to pop it in and rewatch it. It’s about as average as I remember it being. These movies were always so fun to watch in the 90s as a kid. The nostalgia is always strong with Jean-Calude Van Damme movies. He was always one of my favorite action stars in the 90s. I always enjoyed those super cliché final fight sequences at the end of the movie. This one was no different but it’s a bit on the weaker side for his final fights. This is definitely flawed but it’s still a decent enough watch. At the end of the day it’s definitely not my favorite Van Damme movie but it’s decent enough.

Has a bizarre style and sense of humor displayed through its characters. Right from the start you know it's going to get weird as a goofily drunk JCVD is spinning in circles with a gun while contemplating suicide, all while Danny Trejo meditates cross-legged. Lots of good actors here, some decent action. But it's still a b-movie, and only works if you're a huge JCVD fan, you're really bored, or ideally both.

Mr. Miyagi in this is funny as hell 😆 😆
