Easily one of the best in the series. It's where Jason stops being a scary threat and starts veering into unstoppable badass territory. It's also campy and takes the piss out of the series. Sending up the whole genre a good decade before Scream came along and did it. Jason looks cool, there are some inventive kills and Alice Cooper plays on the soundtrack. This was the height of the series.
I wanted to see _Crystal Lake Memories_ but feel like it wouldn't be fun without completing the franchise first. This entry is even better than _The Final Chapter_ which is my fav off the franchise so far. I found myself really appreciating how funny and entertaining this one really is. It's better directed, more humorous, and slightly more self-aware. Jason is back stronger than ever. The menace just increased as he is now even more unstoppable. I liked their decision on having an active and appealing protagonist that keeps you engaged throughout the whole film so that there isn't draggy part in the middle. Overall, this was a solid entry.
"I've seen enough horror movies to know any weirdo wearing a mask is never friendly." Jason Lives is still my favorite part in the franchise. I like the whole approach, Jason is at his best, the humor, the graveyard scene, the Bondesque intro, the kills, actually having little kids at the camp and the whole campy feeling this film has. Part VI is always the one I want to watch on Friday the 13th. It is the one that for me, is the most fun.
As if Jason needed to be even more badass now he comes back as a zombie. A good amount of humor in this makes for a funner movie.
