Synopsis

Dans les années 1950, Vito Genovese et Frank Costello sont deux chefs de la mafia italo-américaine de New York, dont la rivalité atteint son paroxysme en 1957 quand le premier ordonne d'assassiner le second. Cependant, Vincent Gigante ne parvient qu'à blesser Costello. Ce dernier préfère se retirer de ses activités. Vito Genovese va alors prendre le contrôle de la famille Luciano qui deviendra la famille Genovese.

Why does Robert De Niro play two parts? Casting someone else as Vito Genovese wouldn't have made the story any better, but it would've been a lot less distracting. The Alto Knights is fine. Anticlimactic and forgettable, but fine.

A wonderful story well told. Another outstanding performance by De Niro, he rarely disappoints. This made me want to go back and watch all of the old mob movies. Highly recommended if you're a fan of mob movies.

Great performance by De Niro. Took me way too long to realise he was playing Vito as well. The movie is a rehash of Mafia movie tropes. But still worth watching.
