What a mess. I really wanted to like this anime but after watching all 13 episodes I still don't understand what was going on in the story. If you want some good fight scenes you can give it a try (the animation quality is good, as expected of studio MAPPA), but overall I unfortunately can't recommend this anime.

So sad I just finished reading the webtoon and I thought the show was going to be an accurate depiction of what was already an amazing work of ART IMO but this show does it not justice whatsoever they need to stop cutting corners and the next season needs to literally be a full recap season of what season 1 should actually have been.

"The God of Highschool" is a nice little thing for in between. With 13 episodes, the anime is actually over pretty quickly compared to other animes. But In these 13 episodes, the anime still offers the viewer a lot. Since the animation studio "MAPPA" took over the animation here, you could get ready for animations before the first episode that take your breath away. I also really like the character design of the characters. You can see immediately that a lot of work went into it. Also, the anime entertains the viewer very well by experimenting with different art styles. The characters got a good amount of depth here, even though there wasn't much time for that with 13 episodes. However, the short running time is also the biggest problem of the anime. Here an attempt was made to squeeze several hundred chapters of the webtoon into a few episodes. This sometimes works well, but unfortunately not always. If you don't read the webtoon, you will have a lot of questions, especially about the end of the anime. I would also have wished that there was more time for some fights. Unfortunately, it sometimes feels very rushed.

The definition of EPIC! Back to back fight scenes, peak animation, MAPPA cooked again as they always do. This is probably one of the best well paced 13 episode action anime I've watched, literally no unnecessary padding in episodes, the characters are great, even the story in the later episodes were amazing, there isn't much of a plot but everyone who likes some kick-ass action sequences this is worth checking out. Bummer there don't seem to be any news about a season 2, time to start reading the webtoon I guess.
