When family outcast Lucky Flynn learns that his mother is dying, he decides to drive to the other side of Australia to see her, packing nothing but an upright piano for the journey. But his plans are soon turned upside down when he meets the runaway teenager Meg, who’s dealing with some family demons of her own.

This show was a completely joy and I did not expect that it would reach the highs that it did. There is something to be said for these one-off series that allow the writer to drop the viewer right into the middle of the story without having to do character development. In fact, the opposite happens - the viewer gets to discover the character. Each show seemed to be better than the next with the culmination being an absolutely masterful (and emotional ending). I hope this makes it to American tv at some point for those that do not have alternative methods of finding this show. follow me at https://IHateBadMovies.com or facebook IHateBadMovies
The best thing Australian TV has produced in decades. And I say that as someone who has never liked Tim Minchin's stuff and as someone who has seen every episode of Dr Harry.
I highly recommend giving this series a watch. Just note, that it's a drama first and a comedy second.
I can't believe that this show gets so little recognition. It's an incredible experience from the first minute to the last. Many laughs, many tears and the writing is incredibly fresh. Both leads are amazing but Milly just shines! What an amazing talent. I'm so happy that I've been lucky enough to see it.
