This season as far has a feeling like it’s a show returning after a few decades, without any idea, just to make some money.
Euphoria season 3 feels like a completely separate show Sam Levison had queued up for his next hit, found out he had to do a season 3 of Euphoria, and then just combined them into a completely random tone shifted mess that is Season 3. You could replace EVERY character in this show with a new one and the show would change 0. It almost feels like the characters for euphoria weren’t even ment to BE in this show but he just combined it just to get their final season out. I think this could have been a really cool show outside of the euphoria universe, but it just feels completely random and out of left field plot, tone and every other metric.
Did a 15-year-old write this? Honestly, it’s all going downhill. Sam Levinson didn't have anyone's work to rip off this season, so the creativity is gone. Hypersexualizing women, a freaking Nazi flag just for shock value? For real, man, I’m trying to find some depth here, but this series is straight-up garbage.
And the most relentlessly depressing show on TV returns for another installment. I feel like I need to wash my eyes out since they can’t look away.
The balance is gone. The scenes are no longer dark in a recognizable way, but simply over the top. While nudity was used well in previous seasons, it now just feels distasteful and far too prominent. The writing feels unrecognizable and sloppy, and I feel no connection whatsoever to the world in which the first two seasons took place. It is as if they have transported the characters to a completely different universe. The setting in the first two seasons felt real in a way, this just feels like a completely fake and bogus world. Sam Levinson doesn't seem to be able to do it without a writing team.
