Kakeru, a former elite runner at high school, is chased for stealing food. He is saved by Kansei University student Haiji, who is also a runner. Haiji persuades Kakeru to live in the old apartment "Chikuseisou" where he plans to team up with fellow residents to enter Hakone Ekiden Marathon, one of the most prominent university races in Japan. If you're a fan of sports anime, and especially Haikyuu!, you should most definitly watch this.
Proper sports anime. Not my favourite in the genre but that's because it's such a good genre. This still has a great story that's very well animated, and definitely worth watching
Incredibly inspirational but highly underrated, this show is everything an underdog sport anime should strive to be. With diverse and distinct characters, wonderfully poetic dialogue, and a poignant message, it is an emotional roller-coaster ride that you'll never get tired of. As we explore what running means to all the members of the track and field club at Kansei University, we also discover what running with each other has brought to them. After numerous rewatches, this is one show I can't stop recommending to people!
