Ah, it seems After Midnight had a predecessor: *this* show. I've never heard of it and never seen it. *After* Midnight, though, has a truly perfect host in Taylor Tomlinson, and *can* be very very good—when enjoyable “contestants” (?) are on. I'm very thankful that ‘after midnight’ got made and found its way to me; it can be just what one needs amid this current hellscape (the conquered country USA)
Chris Hardwick is an awkward and unsure host, but the show can be worth watching just for many amazing guest comedians.
