Synopsis

Panorama began broadcasting on 11th November 1953 as a fortnightly show. Described by the Radio Times of the day as a “reflection of the contemporary scene” it included reviews of the contemporary arts as well as featuring documentary pieces. Inaugural edition. Leads with a report on the "brainwashing" of British spy Edgar Sanders after he was captured by the Soviets.
