In a land controlled by feudal barons, a great warrior and a young boy embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment. A genre-bending martial arts series very loosely based on the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West.

Initially, I thought this was just some martial arts action series, but then a character's eyes became luminous and his fighting skills were briefly 'enhanced' -- I was instantly hooked. I usually fast-forward through fight scenes and gun battles -- not in this show, amazingly choreographed sequences not to be missed. Great story, except there wasn't enough of it :-) If there were only to be 5 episodes, it would've played better for me as a miniseries with plot resolution and a hint of potential continuation. Didn't care for the multi-pronged cliffhanger finale -- I liked the episode, just not they way they ended things. The actor who plays M.K. seemed miscast, I think David Mazouz (Gotham's young Bruce Wayne) would've been perfect in that role. Regardless, still loved the show :-)
I really enjoyed this pilot episode, its great to see more martial arts implemented into TV shows. The story (the pieces we know so far) are intriguing and i can honestly say i was entertained throughout the whole first episode. The colours in this show just pop, lets see if the rest of the season can hold up.
Do not waste your time with this piece of shit wrapped up in a shiny paper. The writing, the dialogue, the entire direction of the show, were absolute shit-tier. The fighting was pretty damn good in the 1st season. But most of the fights were bending physics harder than a Chinese martial arts movie, some looked straight up goofy. Good visuals, decent acting, and good camera work. That's about it.
Just watch season 1 and 2. Forget 3 ever existed.
i was searching for serie like this and now i found it. this one is better than GOT & TWD all together. love Daniel Wu
