Oh, those were a days... I don't know why earlier seasons gets so much hate. I think the first four seasons are the best four seasons. Where are the times when Simpsons had really valuable stories and great humour? Even the animation isn't that bad. I personally love earlier seasons' art style.
It’s really interesting to watch the show’s growing pains and the early glimpses of its future brilliance

It's a good start for an iconic show, though must of the episodes are just ok, It does set up the characters pretty well, there dynamics and even the heart of the show, but it's just not as funny as later seasons but not bad at all.
The groundbreaking animated family comedy _The Simpsons_ delivers a hilarious first season. The animation style is a little crude and the character designs fluctuate a bit, but overall the series has an interesting look and feel to it. And, the comedy is especially sharp; using a lot of satire and parody. Additionally, the show does an impressive job at worldbuilding and at setting up a vast array of supporting characters. Also, a couple of guest stars, including Kelsey Grammer and Penny Marshall, are featured. Season 1 of _The Simpsons_ is a lot of fun and is full of laughs.
