3 Thoughts After Completing ‘Melrose Place’ (Again): 1. My _Melrose_ rewatch offered up a lot of revelations. That this is such a flawed show. BUT it’s a 90s pop culture icon and it was probably my first ever “appointment TV” experience growing up. Nothing can change that. Not even understanding its imperfections more than ever. 2. My head should be dizzy by the never-ending carousel of reused plotlines… the endless marriage proposals, the inordinately early declarations of love, the cheating, the break-ups, the getting back together… the question of who’s-getting-with-who was fairly exhausting. It worked then. But I’ve gotta admit that it wouldn’t hold up today. 3. Heather Frickin’ Locklear. The perpetual Special Guest Star. The absolute queen of this series. She’s known for saving it, and save it she did. Her badassness might be the only thing that _would_ hold up today. Amanda Woodward was the soul of _Melrose Place_.
