OMG, I remember reading the webtoon back when it was coming out. Hope this anime stacks up to it!
I also read the web comic maaannny years ago, back when it was a popular comic on Webtoons that was just finishing up before its indefinite cancelation. I was pretty much hooked on it, and binge read all the current (at the time) content in a couple days. But more about this adaptation, wow was that a rough start. The characters all felt cheesy and un-authentic to me. None of them felt particularly likeable and were super shallow personalities in the first couple of episodes. I understand that a lot of folks found the webtoon endearing because of how "cringe" it made them feel, but it didn't end up working for me here. By the second half of the season, I felt it had captured some of the aspects that made the webtoon good. But it was such a rough start getting there. And all at the same time, the pacing felt frantic and rushed, never spending time on a single moment too long. To be fair, there was a decent amount of content they were adapting in to just 12 episodes and they opted to stay quite true to the source material. But it seems like some more time would have been wisely spent on transitioning from a web comic format, to an anime format. I'd be open to a second season, but not at the top of my list :/
