I don't usually like anything to do with celebrity anything but this is probably the best Traitor's ever and I've seen all variants of the show. There is no ego or obnoxious celebrities on the show. Everyone one of them is genuinely likable and I don't want any of them killed off.
Somehow I like this version over the normal one, and I think it's because the celebrities are more in tune with the cameras, making them ten times more bearable than the non-celebrities. The winnings going to charity makes it a better watch too. My only criticisms are the constant, non-stop, never-ending, mid-take cuttings just to spell out what we just saw. It's condescending and, moreover, annoying. As for the game, I don't think I'll get over that finale ever. Otherwise, I look forward to the next season.
Previous discussions among traitor fans has been divided between "normal people" and "celebrity" editions of the show. However, in the other cases the celebs are really just reality TV stars, which instantly causes a certain vibe and style of gameplay. Here, celebs means "people you know off the telly" and ... it works. It's got a vibe specific to itself with the prize being for charity and kudos only which is in many ways for the best. Some of the worst and best gameplay of The Traitors format is here, often from the same people! Hard recommend for anyone into any of these series.
I was kinda worried when they annouced the Celebrity verion and had actual celebs unlike the US version which is reality TV experts and know how to make TV but this season was lightning in a bottle. WIll they be able to recreate the same again if they do a second season i have my doubts but I will be watching.
I’m not usually a reality show person, but I really enjoyed this. I think mostly because it’s filled with celebrities from the UK. I just had a really good time with it.
