It won't be to everybody's taste, but I thought CITY The Animation was a hoot. The huge cast of characters aren't given much in the way of arc or development, instead they are used as the building blocks for gags, gags, gags... Sometimes hundreds of gags in an episode! The humour is super-duper Japanese, combining surreal visuals, slapstick, wordplay and parody at a somewhat breakneck pace. Gimmicks like a split-screen episode and a musical episode are welcome experiments in what amounts to a light, breezy series.
